Speaker Dr. Junhyeok Bang (Korea Basic Science Institute, KBSI)

Dear all,

Greetings!

This email is to inform you that Dr. Junhyeok Bang (Korea Basic Science Institute, KBSI) Seminar will be held as below.

Anyone interested in this topic is welcomed.

- Details -

1. Date & Time : May 17th (Tue.), 2016, 11:00 ~ 12:00

2. Venue : Room 406, Creative Learning B/D (E11)

3. Topic: Understanding and Regulating Excited State Dynamics in Materials

4. Host : Prof. Yong-Hoon Kim, Graduate School of EEWS (Ext.1717)

5. Abstract:

Electronic excited states are quite common in nature and several applications, and the understanding and controlling of excited carrier dynamics is of fundamental and practical importance. Recent developments in time-dependent density functional theory (TDDFT)-molecular dynamics (MD) make it possible to explore excited carrier dynamics and its coupling with lattice dynamics on a femtosecond time scale. In this talk, I will present several recent studies on this subject, including the carrier multiplication induced non-thermal phase transition in phase change memory materials, the charge transfer dynamics in van der Waals heterostructures, the carrier induced transient defect formation and non-radiative recombination in semiconductors, and the photo-desorption of hydrogen on graphene.

Attachment: CV

Thank you.

Regards,

EEWS Department office  (Ext. 1703)
