Research Interest
My main research topic is quantum many-body systems with high entanglement and correlations. Conventional many-body systems may be characterized by the Landau paradigms: 1) quasi-particle description of electron/spin excitations, 2) conventional symmetry breaking phase transitions. On the contrary, the paradigms do not work in quantum many-body systems with high entanglement and correlation. The prime examples include quantum spin liquids, high-temperature superconductivity, and non-Fermi liquids. They call for a novel understanding and description of condensed matter systems including deconfinement, fractionalization, and topological invariants on which I am working with my colleagues.
