<2024 Fall Semester Course Waiver Exam for General PhysicsⅡ (PH142)>
(We do not have General PhysicsⅠ wavier exam in the Fall semester.
Similarly, there is no General PhysicsⅡ wavier exam in the spring semester. Only General PhysicsⅠ wavier exam.)
For whom: Students who have applied for the waiver exam, and 2024 fall semester freshman who have applied for this exam.
(Students re-taking this course cannot apply for the waiver exam.)
How to Apply:
1. Submit the application form and exam fee transfer confirmation or receipt to the Academic Registrar's Team. For more detailed information please refer to the link below.

2. Enter your registration information to the Google form attached below.

(If you have not completed the application processes by 9/2 18:00, your grade may not be accepted even though you take the exam.)
※ If you need to take General PhysicsⅡ (PH142) in 2024 fall semester, you must register for it regardless of the waiver exam result.
Fee: KRW 20,000 (20,000 won)
Date: September, 3rd (Tue) 19:00 ~ 21:00 (2 hours)
Place: Creative Learning Building (E11) 304
(In the case of applicants for the exam is too many, additional exam places will be notified via KLMS.)
Subjects: [1] Electromagnetism [2] Optics [3] Modern Physics (general physics textbook level)
Criteria and other notices:
- Exam results will be notified by e-mail within 72 hours.
- For students who pass the exam, grade(from B- to A+) will be given based on your score.
- Students who pass the exam will be recognized as having taken PH141 only if they want to receive credits.
- If (1) you fail the waiver exam or (2) you don’t desire to take the grade(B- to A+), you may take General PhysicsⅡ (PH142) or Advanced PhysicsⅡ (PH162).
Notification and precaution for the exam:
1. Please bring your own ID card on the exam day.
2. Please write your answer on the answer sheet, and do not use red pen when you write your answer.
3. Leave only writing supplies(pen, eraser) and ID card on your desk. Put other things in your bag. Also, turn off your cellular phone.
4. Write your name, ID number, section, and exam place on all of your answer sheet CLEARLY.
5. Using toilet and finishing exam are allowed after PM 7:30. Also, you cannot enter the exam place after PM 7:30.
6. If you want to make a request to TAs (ex: toilet, question), raise your hand quietly. However, it is not possible after PM 8:40.
7. DO NOT CHEAT ON EXAM. If you cheat, you may be expelled from KAIST.
