Title: The Weak Gravity Conjecture in Perturbative String Theory
Abstract: I will discuss the weak gravity conjecture (WGC) starting from the original statement and motivation, showing the evidence for various forms of the conjecture in string scenarios. Connecting the WGC to other, related, conjectures, I will describe the results of a recent paper (2401.14449), where, using a string worldsheet approach, we are finally able to provide a comprehensive proof of the WGC, albeit, for now, restricted to the perturbative bosonic string.
