Title: Radio Astronomy, Radio Interferometry, and Multi-wavelength Studies on Relativistic Jets
Place : E6-2. 1st fl. #1323
Abstract:
Radio astronomy started in 1933 when its pioneers detected astronomical radio-wavelength signals from the center of our Milky Way. In radio astronomy, many astronomical and astrophysical discoveries have been made. Radio interferometry, one of the powerful tools developed in radio astronomy, has enabled us to achieve a spatial resolving power to obtain an image of a photon ring around a black hole shadow (e.g,, M87). Moreover, multi-wavelength astronomical observations have investigated physical properties of plasma relativistic outflow (i.e., relativistic jets) from the black hole. In this talk, several interesting results from the observational studies as well as future works will be introduced.
