* Title:  Testing quantum thermodynamics using quantum optics

* Speaker: 권혁준 (Korea Institute for Advanced Study, KIAS)

* Date: 4pm, 10th May

* Place: E6 1323 (Available seats can be limited because of the COVID situation.)

* Abstract
Quantum mechanics can be dramatically different from classical physics as quantum states can be in superposition, while quantum optics has provided a promising platform for exploring quantum natures in the microscopic regime. Recently, it has been actively studied how quantum coherence changes the laws of thermodynamics from both thermodynamics and quantum information perspectives. In this talk, we discuss recent theoretical developments in quantum thermodynamics and how the modified thermodynamic laws can be tested using quantum optics.
