Everyone is welcome to participate.

Speaker: Kang Sin Choi (Ewha)
Time: Nov 22nd (Wed) 4 pm
Place: E6-2, #2502

Title: "Renormalization and the Hierarchy Problem"
Abstract: We reconsider renormalization of observables, not bare parameters, in quantum field theory. We review two examples and see how divergences in the observables cancel inclduing the quadratic: the vacuum polarization and the top-quark correction to the Higgs mass. The result does not depend on the regularization scheme: simple cutoff and dimensional regularization give the same result.
