Abstract:

How does gravity emerge from quantum physics? In recent years, we have acquired multiple hints regarding the relationship between quantum theory and gravity, including that information and dynamics in the quantum setting play an important role. I will review some of these developments, and describe a proposal for the direct mechanism of the emergence of spacetime and gravity from quantum dynamics, involving probability and stochastic processes.
