2012학년도 봄학기 복학과 관련된 사항을 아래와 같이 안내하오니 복학 예정자는 2012학년도

봄학기 등록기간(2012. 1. 9〔월〕～ 2012. 1.13〔금〕) 내에 지도교수 및 학과장/전공책임교수의

확인을 거쳐 복학원을 제출하고, 동 기간 내에 수강신청 및 납입금 납부를 완료하시기 바랍니다.

복학하여 등록 및 수강신청을 하지 않을 경우 학칙 제34조 제4항에 의거하여 제적처리 되오니

유의하시기 바랍니다.

* 2012학년도 봄학기 개강 : 2012년 2월 6일(월)

1. 복학원 제출

가. 복학원은 2012학년도 봄학기 등록기간(2012. 1. 9〔월〕～ 2012. 1.13〔금〕)내에

교무처 학적팀(창의학습관(E11) 111호)으로 제출하여 주시기 바랍니다.

※ 복학원 미제출 시 : 학칙에 따라 미등록 제적처리 됨.

나. 군(병역)휴학인 경우 실제 입대기간 및 전역일이 기재된 주민등록초본 1통 또는 입대일

및 전역일이 기재된 전역증 사본을 첨부하여야 합니다.

※ 전역 예정인 학생은 부대에서 발급한 전역예정증명서 또는 복무확인서 등

전역 예정임을 증빙할 수 있는 관련 서류를 첨부하여 복학신청을 하여야 함.

다. 복학원에는 반드시 보증인, 지도교수 및 학과장/전공책임교수(무학과 학생은

학적팀 확인)의 확인이(서명/날인) 있어야 하므로 미리 준비하시기 바랍니다.

※ 학사 : 보증인은 부모의 서명/날인을 하여야 함.

※ 석.박사 : 보증인은 일반장학생의 경우 소속기관의 직인 날인을,

국비.KAIST 장학생의 경우 부모의 서명/날인을 하여야 함.

2. 수강신청서 제출

등록 기간 내에 본인이 Web 홈페이지(http://portal.kaist.ac.kr)로 수강신청을 한 후 신청내역을 Hard

Copy(수강신청서 출력)하여 이에 지도교수의 확인을 받아 복학원 제출 시 함께 제출합니다.

3. 납입금 납부(인터넷고지 및 전자금융 서비스 이용납부)

1월 초 KAIST Home Page의 <학사공지>에 안내되는 납부방법 및 개인별 내역을 확인하여

인터넷뱅킹, CD/ATM기 등 금융서비스를 이용하여 납부함.

4. 군휴학자 유의사항

가. 군휴학의 경우 종료일은 기 승인된 휴학만료일이 기준일로 되지 않고 실제로 전역

(제대)한 일자가 속한 학기까지만 인정되기 때문에 당초 승인된 휴학일보다 일찍 전역했다

면 전역일이 속한 직전 학기에 복학하여야 하며, 복학하지 않았을 경우에는 직후 학기

부터 휴학만료일까지는 일반휴학으로 처리되므로 유의하시기 바랍니다.

예) 군휴학 신청 후 승인 기간이 2009. 9. 1 ~ 2012. 8.31이나

실제 전역일이 2012. 1. 31까지인 경우

- 2012년도 봄학기에 복학하지 않은 경우 실제 복무 기간만(2009. 9. 1 ~ 2012. 1. 31)

군휴학으로 처리되고 2012. 8.31까지 1학기는 일반휴학으로 처리됨.

나. 전역일이 승인된 휴학만료일 보다 늦어질 경우에는 복무 확인서(부대장 직인 날인)를

첨부하여 다시 휴학원을 제출하여 승인(연기)을 받아야 합니다.

다. 군휴학자가 병역필로 휴학 사유가 학기 중에 종료되어 복학하고자 할 시에는

학칙 제53조 제2항에 의거 학기 중에도 복학이 가능합니다. 병역필로 인한 복학 신청은

정규학기 성적마감일 전까지이며, 복학에 따른 수강신청기한은 수강변경기간까지입니다.

수강변경기간이 경과하면 수강신청이 불가하오니 이점 유의하시기 바랍니다.

5. 기타 : 복학과 관련된 안내사항을 학교 홈페이지(http://www.kaist.ac.kr)와

Portal(https://portal.kaist.ac.kr)의 <학생공지사항> 게시판에 공지하고

별도의 개별통지는 하지 않음.

Academic Reinstatement for the 2012 Spring Semester

Students expected to return to school 2012 Spring Semester must submit a reinstatement application form during the 2012 Spring Semester registration period, after obtaining signatures of your academic advisor and the head of your department/division. The students should register for courses and pay tuition fees during the same period. (According to the Academic Rules and Regulation Section 4, Article 34, returning students failing to register or to pay their tuition fees during the registration period are subject to dismissal from their program.)

* 2012 Spring Semester begins on Monday, February 6

1. Submission of Reinstatement Form

A. Submit the form to the Academic Registrar's Office located in Creative Learning Building (E11, room 111) during the registration period (Monday, January 9, 2012. ～ Friday, January 13, 2012.)

※ Students failing to submit the form will be dismissed in accordance with the Academic Rules and Regulations

B. Students who are on leave of absence due to their military service must submit one copy of their resident certificate on which their duration of the service and the date of discharge are written.

※ Students expected to be discharged from the military service should file an application for reinstatement along with the certificate of discharge or the certificate of military service, or other documents which can prove their service issued by their military unit.

C. Signatures of a guarantor, academic advisor, and the head of their department must be included in the Reinstatement form. (For students who have not declared their major, the form should be confirmed by the Academic Registrar's Team)

※ Undergraduates : their parent's signature as the guarantor's signature

※ Master's and Doctoral students receiving

- general scholarship, an official seal of the organization granting the scholarship can be used as the guarantor's signature

- national scholarship, or KAIST scholarship, their parent's signature as the guarantor's signature

2. Submission of Course Registration Form

Connect to (http://kaipa.kaist.ac.kr) and register for courses -> Print out the registration form -> Obtain your academic advisor's signature > -> Submit the registration form along with the reinstatement form

3. Tuition payment (via internet or electronic bank service)

Payment methods and individual payment status will be announced on <Academic Notices>of the KAIST Home Page early January. Students can pay the fees using internet banking or CD/ATM.

4. Matters to be attended to for students on leave of absence due to military service

A. Military leave of absence: If students are discharged from military service earlier than the approved deadline of their leave of absence, they have to return to school the semester immediately before the semester in which the date of discharge falls.

B. If the date of discharge happens to be later than the deadline of leave of absence, the certificate of military service (signed by a commander of their military unit) should be submitted along with the reinstatement form.

C. Students on military leave of absence (who completed their military service) wanting to return to school in the middle of a semester may do so as indicated in the Section 2, Article 53 of the Academic Rules and Regulations. Students can file reinstatement application until the due date grade input, and can register for courses until the last day of Add/drop period. Registration is not possible after the Add/drop period,

5. Miscellaneous: Notices regarding reinstatement will be announced on <student information> bbs at (http://www.kaist.ac.kr) or Portal (https://portal.kaist.ac.kr). No e-mail will be sent to individual student.
